Discover how long it could take to charge your CUPRA Tavascan based on the type of charger that you use.
The UK National Grid supplies power in Alternating Current (AC) which has to be converted to Direct Current (DC) before it can charge a car. This conversion from AC to DC can be done by the car or the charger. Chargers that supply DC are faster than chargers that supply AC.
Charging times will also vary depending on a number of factors, including temperature, charge already in the battery, the capabilities of the charging unit and the power supply being used. Times will also be affected by the charging curve. Once charging passes 80% it will slow to protect the battery’s longevity. We recommend that you do not charge your CUPRA Tavascan fully every day to protect the battery.

¹ The CUPRA Tavascan is a battery electric vehicle. Figures shown are for comparability purposes; only compare electric range figures for battery electric vehicles tested to the same technical procedures. These figures may not reflect real life driving results, which will depend upon a number of factors including the accessories fitted (post-registration), variations in weather, driving styles and vehicle load. Battery electric vehicles require mains electricity for charging. Figures based on a fully charged battery.
² Charging times will depend on various factors, including temperature, state of the battery, state of and capabilities of the charging unit and power supply. Actual charging time will vary depending on the level of charge in the battery, as well as environmental conditions. Charging times will also be affected by the charging curve for example once charging passes 80%, charging will slow to protect the battery’s longevity. The availability of the maximum electrical output could be limited. The amount of power available in individual driving situations depends on various factors, such as ambient temperature and the charge status, temperature and condition or physical age of the high-voltage battery.
The CUPRA distance and fuel savings calculator provides theoretical, indicative values, based on average and/or official test data, for information only. Actual, real-world results will vary so you should not rely on the calculator. Indicative savings include cost of electricity/fuel for journey only (the cost of the vehicle, servicing and maintenance costs, depreciation etc. are excluded). Distances are indicative figures based on the official test values for electric range for the baseline specification of the CUPRA Tavascan vehicle (excluding options), according to WLTP technical. Official electric range figures and the distance figures stated in the tool may not reflect real life driving results, which will depend on multiple factors, including the accessories fitted (post-registration), variations in weather, driving styles, vehicle load and the starting charge of the battery. Figures stated in the tool assume that the battery has been fully charged (to 100%). To provide indicative fuel savings, we calculate a figure for petrol costs to cover the annual mileage you enter and compare that with a figure for electricity costs to cover the same mileage in the CUPRA Tavascan vehicle (excluding options). The indicative petrol costs are based on the annual mileage and fuel consumption you select and an average unleaded petrol price of 135.53 pence per litre (source: rac.co.uk Petrol and diesel prices, 25 September 2024). The indicative electricity costs are based on the annual mileage you select, the official electric range value and useable battery capacity of the CUPRA Tavascan models (excluding options), home charging from 0% to 100% and an average domestic electricity cost of 22.36p per kWh (based on the June to September 2024 price cap, see Ofgem for more details). Individual electricity tariffs vary – please consult your electricity supplier.
